2, aluminum sulfate can be used as a catalyst for some chemical reactions. For example, in the process of petroleum refining, it can be used in catalytic cracking reaction to convert heavy petroleum molecules into light products. In addition, aluminum sulfate can also be used in other catalytic reactions, such as dehydration and esterification reactions.
3、Aluminum sulfate can work together with surfactants to improve the suspension of particles in the liquid and reduce the aggregation of particles, thus effectively preventing particle precipitation and increasing the stability of the liquid.
4, aluminum sulfate can also adjust the soil pH, because it hydrolyzes to generate aluminum hydroxide at the same time to produce a small amount of dilute solution of sulfuric acid, which can promote the structural improvement of clay soils, improve the permeability and drainage of the soil.
Aluminum sulfate is mainly used as paper sizing agent and flocculant for drinking water, industrial water and wastewater treatment, and it is also the raw material for the production of artificial gemstones and other aluminum salts, such as ammonia alum, potassium alum and refined aluminum sulfate. In addition, aluminum sulfate is also widely used as clarifying agent, petroleum deodorant and decolorant, concrete waterproofing agent, titanium dioxide after film treatment and catalyst carrier production.
